Travel lanes near the top of Kaukonahua Road between Wilikina Drive and Kamananui Road are now open.

Travel lanes near the top of Kaukonahua Road between Wilikina Drive and Kamananui Road are now open after filming was completed for the upcoming movie “Midway.”

The closure was scheduled for 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. today but filming was completed this afternoon.

The filming was originally scheduled for last week but was delayed due to the approach of Tropical Storm Olivia.

Driving scenes with period cars were to be done in the early morning light to re-create the timing of the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor, according to a news release from the Honolulu Film Office and the Department of Transportation Service. Stunt sequences were to be shot at the location throughout the day.
