Hawaii recognized seniors Raisa Strom-Okimoto and Sarah Lau following today’s game.

The Hawaii soccer team could not make good on a chance to make its first Big West tournament, falling 2-1 to Cal State Fullerton in the teams’ regular-season finale today at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

UH (9-7-1, 4-4 Big West) needed a win over the Titans and had several opportunities, but Fullerton (4-12-3, 1-5-2) played an effective spoiler on the senior day for the Rainbow Wahine.

After the Wahine fell behind 1-0 in the first half, Sarah Lau tied it up at 1-1 with a chip shot goal in the 58th minute but the Titans went back up on a counterattack in the 67th.

With under three minutes left, Raisa Strom-Okimoto drew a penalty kick and Lau took the shot to send it to overtime, but it sailed high and UH remained a goal behind.
