Fire destroys car, chars home on Big Isle
Hawaii island firefighters are investigating a fire that destroyed a car in Ocean View Sunday night.
Four units with nine firefighters responded to the fire at the corner of Paradise Parkway and Luau Drive at approximately 11:45 p.m. When they arrived, the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The blaze also spread to a wall of a home the car was next to, said the Hawaii County Fire Department in a news release.
There were no occupants in the vehicle or home.
Firefighters brought the fire under control at about 12:20 a.m. and extinguished it at 12:40 a.m.
