Prosecutors charged a 25-year-old man Friday in connection with a kidnapping and sex assault case in Iwilei.

Isa Lucky was charged with kidnapping and third-degree sex assault. His bail is set at $75,000.

Police said a man later identified as Lucky sexually assaulted a 49-year-old woman Wednesday morning.

He approached the victim at a bus stop at 866 Iwilei Road at about 6 a.m.

Police said he dragged her across the street into a building and sexually assaulted her. He then fled in an unknown direction.

At about 1:30 p.m. the next day, police located Lucky near the intersection of Kuwili Street and Iwilei Road and arrested him on suspicion of kidnapping and sex assault.

He has a criminal record of liquor in public places, criminal property damage, unauthorized entry into a vehicle, harassment and theft.

Correction: Honolulu police issued an update Monday saying that Lucky was arrested near the intersection of Kuwili Street and Iwilei Road, and not at the city’s Punawai Rest Stop, as was reported in an earlier version of this story.
