Please describe your qualifications to represent the voters of your county.

Born & raised Hawaiian, I am deeply connected to my culture and values that are rooted in my commitment to Kauai’s future. I have both private and public sector leadership experience that will aid me in building partnerships and filling the gaps between these two sectors.

What will be your top priority if elected?

The most important thing for Kaua’i is economic stability as we navigate through our current situation due to COVID-19.

As Hawaii faces the COVID-19 pandemic, what more should county government do to protect residents’ health?

It is important that we support our enforcement services to ensure adequate quarantine is implemented by visitors.

What should county government do to help residents who have been economically affected by the pandemic?

The county needs to develop safety protocols/procedures that will allow local businesses to open/remain open successfully.

Should public worker furloughs, pay cuts or downsizing be used to help the county deal with lower tax revenues and higher expenses during the pandemic? Why or why not?

Yes, as long as it starts from the top and works it’s way down. Leader’s need to set the example for others to follow.

What specific solutions do you propose to combat homelessness?

By supporting our current transitional housing developments and continue to work on low-income and workforce housing we can address one facet of the “house less” issue. Also, advocating for funding to support our mental health and drug addicted populations from the state we can combat many issues associated with homelessness.

Do you support reforms to policing in Hawaii? If yes, please explain what reforms you support.

No, while I realize that other parts our country face these issues, I do not believe
Hawaii faces those same issues in our police force. I have a much respect for our police officers.

Is there anything more that you would like voters to know about you?

I will bring honor, respect, and integrity to our government. I will be a voice for our people and act as a liaison between county and state government. I will fight for what is right.
