No tsunami threat to Hawaii following earthquake in Kilauea Volcano
There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii following a 4.0-magnitude earthquake in Kilauea’s lower southwest rift zone at 10:03 a.m. today, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency said the earthquake was not large enough to cause a tsunami to the island of Hawaii.

A number of small earthquakes have rattled Kilauea within the past month. On July 27, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake shook the south of Hawaii island but was not strong enough to generate a tsunami.
