14-year-old boy stabbed multiple times at Fern Community Park

A 14-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times Thursday afternoon on a basketball court at Fern Community Park, near Fort Shafter, the Honolulu police said.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Service personnel treated the boy, who was stabbed in the upper body and arm just before 4 p.m.

He was transported to a trauma hospital in serious condition, meaning he was conscious and his injuries were not life-threatening.

The Honolulu Police Department said it had no further information about the incident.

Correction: The teen was stabbed on a basketball court at Fern Community Park. An earlier version of this story said he was stabbed at Fern Elementary School, based on information from Honolulu Emergency Medical Service
