University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Rainbow Wahine face UH-Hilo this weekend

Hawaii’s Justin Webster (2) made a plus one over HPU’s Elijah Martinez (1) during the second half of Friday’s game at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The Bows defeated the Sharks, 83-50.

The University of Hawaii basketball teams are scheduled to face their counterparts from Hilo in men’s and women’s games on Saturday and Sunday at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

The Rainbow Warriors play host to the Vulcans in the men’s game at 7 p.m. Saturday. The women’s game between the Rainbow Wahine and Vulcans is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.

The games will count as non-conference games for UH and will be exhibitions for Division II UH-Hilo.

The Hawaii men opened their season with an 83-50 win over Hawaii Pacific last Friday. HPU’s women’s team earned an 82-74 win over the Rainbow Wahine on Sunday.

UH is scheduled to open Big West play against Cal Poly on Dec. 27 with the men playing at home and the women in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
