A new department called Pier 13 Import Shop joins the offerings at Sears, Roebuck’s giant Ala Moana Center store. When Sears began to get calls for gift items like Japanese scrolls, lacquerware, vases and temple rubbings, it decided to stock imported items not found in other Sears stores.

Honolulu’s newest restaurant and waterfront attraction has taken up residence at Pier 6, across from the Falls of Clyde. In a month or two the 280-foot steel barge will become Oceana Restaurant, serving up Chinese cuisine.
