The 32-year-old victim in Friday’s deadly stabbing in McCully-Moiliili was the assailant’s brother, Honolulu police said.

Zeke Magness, 31, made his initial appearance before Judge James McWhinnie at Honolulu District Court today via video conference from the courthouse cellblock after prosecutors charged him Sunday with second-degree murder. His bail is set at $500,000.

Court documents identified the victim as Zachary Magness.

Police initially responded to a call of an argument at an apartment at about 7:20 p.m. Friday. While en route, the call was updated to a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police said officers determined a man stabbed his brother multiple times. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Police arrested the suspect, identified as Zeke Magness, at 1926 S. King St. on suspicion of murder.
