Hokule‘a receives warm welcome in San Francisco Bay

Hawaii’s Polynesian voyaging canoe Hokuleʻa sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge and into the San Francisco Bay on Sept. 24 as part of its Moananuiakea Voyage, a circumnavigation of the Pacific. Nainoa Thompson, CEO of the Polynesian Voyaging Society, announced a change to the Moananuiakea Voyage sail plan in the wake of the devastating fires on Maui.
