A multi-agency search for a 47-year-old free diver who was reported missing on Kauai Monday resumed this morning.

The Kauai Fire Department responded to a report of a missing diver identified as Nelson Kupenes at about 7:50 a.m. Monday.

He was last seen wearing a black wetsuit and using a clear milk jug as a dive float in the vicinity of Glass Beach in Eleele, according to the Coast Guard.

The Kauai Police Department, Ocean Safety Bureau and Coast Guard also assisted in the search.

Anyone with information on Kupenes’ whereabouts is urged to call the police department’s dispatch at 241-1711 or the Coast Guard Sector Honolulu command center at 842-2600.
