University of Hawaii running back Alex Green and linebacker Corey Paredes were named Western Athletic Conference Players of the Week for offense and defense, respectively, today.

Green, of Portland, Ore., rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns, and Paredes, a Castle High alum, had 10 tackles and two interceptions in leading the Warriors to a 45-7 victory over Utah State in Logan, Utah, Saturday.

It was Hawaii’s fifth victory in a row. The Warriors are 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the WAC. They play Idaho Saturday in their homecoming game at Aloha Stadium.
