A bevy of the party’s candidates will be on hand — including U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye, who is seeking a ninth six-year term, and gubernatorial candidate Neil Abercrombie, a former congressman.

Also expected are lieutenant governor nominee Brian Schatz; U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka, who may run for re-election in 2012; 1st Congressional District candidate Colleen Hanabusa, and U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono, who is seeking re-election to the 2nd Congressional District.

The two-hour rally will begin Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Mooheau Park Bandstand on Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo.
