MIAMI » Dwyane Wade had 39 points. LeBron James had a triple-double. The Miami Heat had a 22-point lead.

The Utah Jazz were unimpressed on all counts.

Paul Millsap scored a career-high 46 points — 11 coming in the final 28 seconds of regulation as Utah rallied from eight down — and the Jazz stunned the Heat 116-114 in overtime last night.

"I guess when it rains, it pours," Millsap said.

Utah never led by more than three points, which didn’t matter. The Jazz had more than enough at the end, and Francisco Elson’s free throws with 0.4 seconds left won it.

"At some point in the year, unfortunately, we have to go through something like this," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

It’s still early, but Utah can make an argument for being the NBA’s comeback kings so far. The Jazz rallied from 18 points down to beat the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night, and dug themselves an even bigger hole this time around, trailing by 22 in the second quarter and 51-32 at halftime while getting run out of Miami’s building.

Deron Williams had 21 points and 14 assists before fouling out late in regulation, and Andrei Kirilenko scored 16 — including a 3-pointer with 1:50 remaining, after which the Jazz wouldn’t trail again.

"It’s speechless, to be down like that to a team like this and to come out with a win," Millsap said. "We clawed our way out of it. But this says a lot about our team."

Wade’s 39 came on 12-of-23 shooting. James finished with 20 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds for his 29th triple-double, the seventh that came in a loss. Chris Bosh scored 17 for the Heat, who gave up a staggering 84 points after halftime.

Pacers 144, Nuggets 113

Host Indiana made its first 20 shots of the third quarter, missing out on a perfect period when Josh McRoberts was off on a 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds left, and the Pacers beat Denver.

Mike Dunleavy scored 24 of his 31 points in the Pacers’ 54-point period. Indiana, which shot 64 percent overall, led 113-76 at the end of the third quarter.

"That’s a quarter of basketball that will be remembered for a long time," Pacers coach Jim O’Brien said.

"You just string a few in a row together, you get going, and it just goes from there," Dunleavy said. "My teammates did a good job of finding me, and I knocked down shots."

The Pacers made 31 of 39 shots in the second half.

Lakers 99, T’wolves 94.

Kobe Bryant scored 33 points, Pau Gasol added 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Los Angeles improved to 8-0 for just the third time in franchise history.

The Lakers matched the 1987-88 team for the second-best start in club history. Only the 1997-98 Lakers were better, starting 11-0.

Hornets 101, Clippers 82

Willie Green scored 19 points and fellow reserve guard Jarryd Bayless added 15, helping New Orleans remain unbeaten.

Chris Paul added 13 points and eight assists for New Orleans, which is now off to a franchise-best 7-0 start.

Al-Farouq Aminu scored 20 for the Clippers, who played most of the game without starting center Chris Kaman after he sprained his left ankle.

Blazers 100, Pistons 78

LaMarcus Aldridge had 19 points and 17 rebounds, and Portland ended Detroit’s modest two-game winning streak.

Nicolas Batum added 17 points for the Blazers, who led by as many as 25 points.

Portland’s three-time All-Star Brandon Roy raised eyebrows when he left for an extended period in the first half and iced his right leg.

The Blazers were plagued by injuries last season and are still without centers Joel Przybilla and Greg Oden.

Cavaliers 93, Nets 91

Antawn Jamison and Anthony Parker hit late 3-pointers and Cleveland got 52 points from its bench to win its third straight game.

Bucks 107, Knicks 80

Brandon Jennings scored 19 points, Drew Gooden added 17 points and eight rebounds, and Milwaukee broke out of an early-season shooting slump.
