Stabbing leads to pair of arrests

Police arrested a 27-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy in connection with a stabbing Monday night at the Waimalu Plaza Shopping Center.

The incident began when several males approached a 28-year-old man standing next to his vehicle in a parking lot at about 11:45 p.m., police said.

One of the assailants stabbed the man and hit a 34-year-old woman inside the vehicle. The stabbing victim was taken in serious condition to the Queen’s Medical Center, police said.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree assault and unauthorized entry into a vehicle. The boy was booked on suspicion of injurious behavior.

 

Man being sought in cabbie robbery

Police were looking for a man in his 30s who robbed a 51-year-old cabdriver at gunpoint Monday afternoon in Halawa.

The robber also made off with the cab, which was found a few blocks away.

Police said the cabdriver picked up the man in town.

When they arrived at a Halawa address just before 3 p.m., the man pointed a gray handgun at the driver, demanded his wallet and told him to get out of the van.

The cab driver complied with the demands, and the robber took the van and $100 in cash, police said. The driver was not hurt, police said.

 

Victim of holdup points out suspect

Police arrested a 40-year-old homeless man who allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint at Makapuu Beach Park.

A 47-year-old man told officers that a man whom he met a few days earlier held him up at gunpoint at about 3 p.m. Monday.

Police found the suspect nearby and arrested him at 3:46 p.m. Monday.
