Juvenile detention inmate allegedly tries to escape from hospital
A 14-year-old girl being held at the Kapolei Juvenile Detention Facility allegedly tried to escape from a Waipahu-area hospital yesterday while in the custody of a Juvenile Probation Officer, police said.
She was arrested around 12:15 p.m. on the hospital grounds after leaving the probation officer’s custody around 11:45 a.m.
Police arrested the girl for investigation of second-degree escape.
