Honolulu police say a 42-year-old homeless man attacked a 77-year-old woman and 53-year-old man with a chain at a McCully park yesterday afternoon.

The suspect and victims were talking in the park at about 1 p.m. when the 42-year-old man allegedly began damaging the victim’s car. 

When they told the suspect to stop, police said the man began beating the elderly woman with a chain. The 53-year-old man intervened and police said the suspect attacked him with a chain.

Police said the suspect got away on a bicycle and was arrested a short distance away at McCully  and Waiola streets on two counts of assault, criminal property damage and revocation of parole.
