Police arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly shot a sling spear at a 24-year-old man last night.

Police said the victim was outside of his home with friends at about 8:20 p.m. when the 20-year-old man walked up to him, cocked the spear’s rubber sling and shot it at the victim, who was not struck.

The suspect fled, chased by the 24-year-old man and his friends.

Police arrested him at just before 9 p.m. in front of a home on Pahemo Place in Waimalu. He was released pending further investigation.
