Three people are homeless following a fire this morning in Lahaina.

The fire was reported at 6:21 a.m. at a home at 1342-B Kahoma St. In Lahaina. No one was injured, a Maui fire department official said. The fire was under control by 6:48 a.m. and extinguished three hours later.

The cottage was a total loss with damage estimated at $100,000 to the building and $24,000 to its contents. Maui fire officials said a neighboring house suffered damage estimated at $10,000 to the structure and $1,000 to its contents. However, no one was displaced by that fire.
