Nelson Daranciang

A man accused of killing a homeless man in Aala Park in May pleaded guilty in state court this morning to manslaughter.

Barney Kane, 45, faces a maximum 20-year prison term when he is sentenced in January.

A witness said he saw Kane punch 45-year-old Gordon Lindberg in the face at the park May 11 after the two men exchanged words. Lindberg was found unconscious and died later at Kuakini Medical Center of a head injury.
