The sate government website Hawaii.gov won another best award for interactivity.

The state of Hawaii web portal, by Hawaii Information Consortium, has been named a Best in Class winner in the Government category by the Interactive Media Awards.

The site, eHawaii.gov, is designed to accommodate not just desktop users, but mobile users, users of touch-screen tablets and accessibility for all users.

The award is the 15th presented to Hawaii.gov since its release in April 2013.

The site also was honored for the so-called gamification aspect of its functionality added in 2014. Rather than force site users to search for desired information, the site highlights directly relevant information through a personalized service known as my.hawaii.gov. The service integrates with seven of 17 departments and includes history of all business conducted online with the state.

The mySavings function within my.hawaii.gov creates awareness of the benefits of conducting paperless business with the state online, versus in-person.

To further engage with residents and visitors the state also maintains some 273 social media pages.
