At least 75 acres of agriculture land was scorched by an overnight brush fire which more than 62 city and federal firefighters were able to contain early this morning in Wahiawa.

Capt. Robert Main, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said a department helicopter will do an aerial survey at 8 this morning of the fire area bounded by Kamananui Road, Wilikina Drive, Kamehameha Highway and Lake Wilson to determine if water drops will be needed.

Four city engine companies and one tanker remained on the scene after the fire was contained early this morning to monitor hotspots.

The fire was reported at 8:49 p.m. Monday near the Kukaniloko Birthing Stone.

Fire crews deployed nearly 5,000 feet of hoses to combat the blaze.

No homes or other structures were affected.

No one was injured although one homeless person was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Besides the 10 city engine companies and two tankers sent to the scene, four engine companies and one tanker were dispatched by federal firefighters.
