The medical examiner identified a 56-year-old man who died Saturday after being pulled from waters off the Heeia boat ramp.

The medical examiner identified him as Thomas Zelko, of Kailua. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of his death.

A private boat brought Zelko to the pier after he collapsed in the water.

CPR was being administered when firefighters arrived at 4:26 p.m.

Paramedics took Zelko in extremely critical condition to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police classified the case as an unattended death, pending the results of the autopsy.
