Heavy rains that prompted the National Weather Service to issue another flash flood advisory for Hawaii island until 12:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service said radar showed heavy rain near Keaole Point, about 8 miles north of Kaliua-Kona at 9 p.m. Other locations in the advisory include Puuanahulu and the Kona Village Resort.

Another advisory for the Big Island and advisories for Maui and Kauai were canceled earlier Tuesday afternoon.

Mostly clear skies are expected for leeward areas Tuesday night, while windward and mauka areas can expect cloudier skies and showers.

Better weather is expected Wednesday and Thursday as tradewinds return. Windward areas can expect the usual showers, while leeward skies should be mostly clear with a few isolated showers.

But a cold front may bring rain over the weekend.
