Brown water advisory issued for Waimanalo Beach Park
The state Department of Health issued a brown water advisory for Waimanalo Beach Park today, advising the public to avoid flood waters and storm-water runoff due to possible overflows of wastewater, pesticide, and other debris.
Officials with the department’s Clean Water Branch said not all coastal areas may be affected by the runoff but they were worried about overflows from brown water in the beach park area, including water from cesspools, sewers, and manholes.
