Calif. man charged with buying Filipino girls to make porn

SACRAMENTO, Calif. » A Sacramento man has been charged with paying Filipino guardians for temporary custody of their children and using them to create pornography.

KCRA-TV reports that prosecutors say the 55-year-old man began working with a woman in the Philippines in 2014 to produce sexually explicit photos of children.

At the time, the man was working as an airline pilot based in Bangkok.

According to court documents, he moved back to Sacramento in April but continued to work with the woman.

Documents say the two came up with strategies to find young girls who would engage in sexually explicit actions. They say the man gave her thousands of dollars to buy photo equipment and set up photo shoots with girls.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the man was arrested in July.
