Girl, 16, arrested after allegedly assaulting officers in Chinatown

A 16-year-old girl, who was stopped in Chinatown Thursday afternoon and suspected of being a truant, now faces charges of assaulting several police officers and possessing drugs.

Police said the girl was being questioned by several female police officers just after 1:10 p.m. when she allegedly assaulted them.

The suspect was taken to the police station where a marijuana pipe with residue was found on her.

She was arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault on a police officer, two counts of harassing a police officer, second-degree assault, and third-degree promoting a detrimental drug. She was released pending further investigation.

    This is sad. Expect to see this young woman homeless or in jail someday unless she receives a wake up call of some kind.

    Teen should have been minding her own business on Facebook instead of doing mischief in public.

    Would she have assaulted the police officers if they were men? My guess is NO. With female police officers, guess she felt she could take them down.
