Woman killed crossing Sheridan Street is identified

Police and fire trucks responded to an accident near the intersection of Rycroft and Sheridan streets on May 20.
A 52-year-old woman who was fatally injured by a motor vehicle while walking in a crosswalk in the Ala Moana area last week has been identified as Exian Lin.
Lin, of the Wakiki/Diamond Head area, died of blunt impact to her head, said the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office, which identified her today. Her death was ruled an accident.
Police said Lin was hit about 10:10 a.m. Friday at Rycroft and Sheridan streets.
A 27-year-old man driving east on Rycroft struck Lin while making a left turn onto Sheridan, police said. Lin was in the crosswalk and had the walk signal, police said.
She was taken in critical condition to a hospital where she died Saturday night.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to identify a 56-year-old woman who was killed by a vehicle while crossing Keeaumoku Street on Saturday. The woman had the walk signal and was crossing in or near a crosswalk when a 25-year-old man struck her with a vehicle at the King Street intersection, police said.
She died Sunday. She was this year’s 10th pedestrian fatality on Oahu.

Even if an accident, any driver in a fatality should have their license suspended 5 years, and go thru remedial driver training. There is no excuse when the pedestrian had the right of way. Cellphone while driving…
That is rediculous and excessive. We are all human and make mistakes. Wait until you make a mistake and lose your drivers license for 5 years.
There is no excuse for killing a pedestrian in a crosswalk and having the walk light. Why is it called an accident? It should be manslaughter as a minimum.
