Brady to drop appeal, serve 4-game ‘Deflategate’ suspension

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady faced reporters before a scheduled practice in Foxborough, Mass. on Jan. 6. A federal appeals court on Wednesday rejected Tom Brady’s attempt to get a new hearing on his suspension.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. » Tom Brady will drop his appeal and serve his four-game suspension for the “Deflategate” scandal.
The New England Patriots quarterback said in a Facebook post today that “I have made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process.”
Brady’s latest appeal was rejected Wednesday by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He would have had to convince the U.S. Supreme Court to take his case, and only about 1 percent of the appeals submitted to the nation’s highest court are accepted.
Brady was originally suspended before last season when the Patriots were found to have used underinflated footballs in the previous AFC title game. A judge overturned the suspension Sept. 3 and Brady played the entire 2015 season, but on April 25 a three-judge panel of the 2nd Circuit ruled 2-1 to reinstate the suspension.

Ironically, if he had fessed up and admitted “knowing” about it, he probably would have been fined $25,000 and no other penalty.
With a ball boy named (appropriately) “The Deflator” he looked as guilty as sin. And then to try to explain it. Y saying he was named that because he lost a lot
of weight made it even look more suspicious. Had he taken his suspension like he should have they might have still had a chance due to the fact that their division was not exactly strong. Now that he’s forced to take his punishment it may be a tougher season yet for the Cheatriots. I’m amazed that they were allowed to keep their title from their controversy-laden season stemming from the illegal filming of other team’s practice. As if the official legal tapes were not enough. For a player who claimed that the ball pressure was not that important to him he sure was involved in trying to change the rules regarding such. Unfortunately he will still be looked highly upon regardless of all the cheating scandals by the Cheatriots. Bill Bellichick or “Bellicheat” as a former coach of the undefeated Dolphins has called him. You can bet that Brady will be holding his balls more tightly and his receivers will be “earning” their catches.
He’ll recover from this; just give it time. ????
