Pearl Harbor survivor Floyd Welch, 95, talked story with USN petty officer first class Thomas McMillan (middle) and petty officer second class Christian Cheek before the commemoration ceremony for the USS Oklahoma on Wednesday afternoon. Welch was aboard the USS Maryland, which was directly behind the USS Oklahoma, during the December 7, 1941 attack.

USN Ensign Louis E. Espinosa led the U.S. Pacific Fleet Band to play the national anthem during the Presentation of Colors at the USS Oklahoma memorial on Wednesday afternoon. The USS Oklahoma lost 429 crew members during the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.

After the USS Oklahoma commemoration ceremony, flowers were handed to guests to place at the foot of the memorial pillars for the 429 sailors who died from the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
