Kauai hiking trail closed through Wednesday
Kalalau Trail on Kauai is closed today through Wednesday as the state conducts safety improvements for hikers between Haena and Hanakapiai stream.
Improvements by the state Department of Land and Natural Resources include a rockfall mitigation project.
Day hikers will not be allowed to access the trail during the project. Overnight campers with camping permits will be allowed access.
Campers should expect delays in the area during their hike on the trail.

Permanent ER facilities and helicopter rescue ports are being installed in 10 different locations along the trail. 😉
