Siren testing planned for Diamond Head

The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency and city officials will conduct siren testing from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Ku’ilei Cliffs Beach Park at Diamond Head.

Nearby residents may hear the siren six to eight times for 30-second to one-minute intervals during the two-hour time frame. Testing will include short blasts known as “burps.” The siren was installed as part of a statewide modernization project.

Anyone with questions about this test should can call the city’s Department of Emergency Management at 723-8960.
