Real estate owner and developer Bruce Stark died Thursday at his home in Las Vegas.

Real estate owner and developer Bruce Stark, whose work spanned five decades and changed Honolulu’s skyline, died Thursday at his home in Las Vegas.

Stark, who also maintained a home in Honolulu, was 82.

“He passed away of natural causes,” said attorney and friend Bill McCorriston, whose firm did legal work for him.

Stark began developing condominium buildings in 1966 at the age of 28 through Stark Enterprises Ltd. and continued his development and real estate acquisitions up until his death, McCorriston said.

Among his many projects in Hawaii are the Wailana at Waikiki, the Yacht Harbor Towers, the Admiral Thomas, the Waikiki Trade Center, One Waterfront Plaza, formerly known as Restaurant Row, and One Waterfront Towers.

He also had developments and real estate acquisitions in Las Vegas, Mexico, San Diego and Corpus Christi, Texas.
