Half of Hawaii island home burned, occupants safe

A Hawaii island home sustained $225,000 in damage from a fire that burned half of the home Tuesday night.

The first firefighters arrived at Rainbow Drive in Pahoa at 7:16 p.m. to find all of the occupants out of the home.

Firefighters had the blaze under control by 7:30 p.m. It was deemed extinguished by 10:20 p.m.
