Westbound H-1 closure in Kapolei begins Monday
The westbound H-1 freeway is scheduled for a full-lane, night closure between the Makakilo Drive overpass and Kalaeloa Boulevard overpass from 10 p.m. on Monday through 5 a.m. Friday for the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2 project.
The state Department of Transportation said the closure is necessary to mobilize a crane in the westbound lanes. Electronic message boards will be posted to warn motorists of the full closure.
Motorists traveling on the H-1 freeway will be directed to Makakilo Drive via the Makakilo/Kapolei/Kalaeloa Off-Ramp (Exit 2) and may continue on Farrington Highway/Kamokila Boulevard, Wakea Street, and the Farrington Highway onramp to return to the westbound H-1 freeway.
Other lane closures associated with the project include:
>> Two right lanes closed on the H-1 freeway in the westbound direction between the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) and the Makakilo Drive overpass from 9 p.m. on Monday to 5 a.m. Friday.
