Man allegedly assaulted officer at Kapolei police station

A 33-year-old man faces a potential felony charge after he allegedly assaulted a police officer while being processed for an unrelated arrest early this morning.

The incident occurred at the Kapolei police station around 2:40 a.m.

The suspect was being processed for his arrest on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant, excessive speeding and a protective order violation when he allegedly attacked the officer.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, a class-C felony.
