Hawaiian Airlines revises international check-in site for some passengers

Hawaiian Airlines is holding off on moving its new check-in location for some international passengers from Lobby 3 in Terminal 1 to Lobby 4 in Terminal 2 at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

Company spokesman Alex Da Silva said today that last month’s move for nonstop flights to Japan, which was made to ease long security lines, has “gone very well and led to an improved airport experience for all our guests.”

“We have been pleased to see a noticeable decongestion throughout Terminal 1, which was expected since our Japan operations represent roughly half of our international flying,” he said.

However, he said, the airline has discovered some operational constraints that has led it to hold off in moving the remainder of its international flights to Lobby 4 as originally planned.

“This means guests flying to South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti and American Samoa will continue to check-in at Lobby 3,” he said. “We will still relocate the neighbor island check-in to Lobby 3 tomorrow, as planned, while keeping the North America check-in at Lobby 2. We will have our Team Kokua volunteers stationed at Lobbies 2, 3 and 4 tomorrow through Friday to help direct guests.”
