Group detained security guard in Kapolei water park robbery, police say

Honolulu police are investigating a brazen robbery of an ATM machine that occurred in the middle of the night at a water park in Kapolei.

Police said at least three to four male suspects detained an adult male security guard at Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii at 400 Farrington Highway just after midnight today.

It is unclear at this time whether the suspects were juveniles or adults.

Police said the culprits took an ATM machine from the property as well as the security guard’s personal belongings.

The suspects fled in a vehicle. Police said the guard walked to the Kapolei business area where he used a phone to call 911.

No injuries were reported. Police said the suspects remain at-large.
