The high winds today caused a tree at Foster Botanical Garden to split in half.

Foster Botanical Gardens was closed to the public early today after high winds split a "fairly large" tree in half.

The tree that split was resting on another tree, and the city is working to remove it. There were no injuries or damage reported.

The park is expected to reopen Wednesday.

Meantime, two left lanes on Beretania Street are closed between Victoria and Ward because of a leaning pole, according to the Honolulu Police Department.

It happened around 1:10 p.m.

It’s unknown how long the road will be closed for at this time.
