Hawaii Votes by Mail in 2024

The State of Hawaii passed Act 136, SLH 2019, to implement elections by mail starting in 2020. All registered voters will receive a ballot packet in the mail at least 18 days before Election Day. Traditional polling places will not be available. Not registered to vote? Register online.

Important Dates

Voter Registration Deadline: Aug. 3

Primary Election: Aug. 13

General Election: Nov. 8

Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
