The Coast Guard yesterday came to the aid of a sailing vessel anchored 200 yards offshore in Keehi Lagoon.

The vessel, “For Heavens Sake,” radioed for help before 9 a.m. today, and the Coast Guard dispatched a 25-foot response boat.

A breach in the hull had allowed 500 to 600 gallons to flood the sail boat.

The Coast Guard reinforced an existing patch in the hull and drained the water from the boat.
