Police arrested a 32-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted his ex-wife with a bat in Aiea last week.

A 30-year-old woman told police she was involved in an argument with her ex-husband at her home at 5 a.m. last Thursday.

The man grabbed a baseball bat and struck her several times on her left arm and leg, police said. Two days later, she went to a nearby hospital to seek treatment for multiple bruises and reported the assault to police while she was at the hospital.

Crime Reduction Unit officers located the suspect yesterday and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree assault.
