Shots fired from one vehicle at another on a Salt Lake street have police looking for a heavily tattooed man with a shaved head and gold necklace.

The attempted murder case began June 17 when one of the victims was challenged  to a fight in front of the Salt Lake Shopping Center Blockbuster Video store.

The victim left the parking lot in his vehicle around 10:30 p.m. and was followed by the suspect.

As the victim was driving along Ala Kamaile Street near Ala Akulikuli Street, the suspect pulled alongside in a dark-colored Nissan Pathfinder and shouted for him to pull over, police said.

The victim ignored the shouting and continued driving, but then had his vehicle rammed several times by the Pathfinder.

A passenger in the Nissan then fired several gunshots at the victim’s vehicle. Several rounds hit the vehicle and one round passed between the driver and the passenger.

The Nissan then sped off.

The suspect being sought is believed to be between 18 and 20, about 5-foot-6-and 5-foot-8, approximately 140 to 180 pounds, with a shaved head, multiple tattoos on his chest, and a gold rope chain around his neck.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
