Big Island firefighters today continued the search for a 61-year-old woman who did not return to her home in Volcano after going for an afternoon walk.
Her husband reported the woman missing from 11-3803 Liona St. in the Mauna Loa Estates at 9 p.m.
Sixteen firefighters searched the subdivision looking for the woman who was described as of Japanese descent, 4 feet 10 inches, 95 pounds and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white blouse and a light denim jacket. She was last seen leaving Cooper Center at 1 p.m.
