A 15-year-old girl was injured last night after attempting to stop a man from stealing her sister’s car.
According to police, a 29-year-old Papakolea man had taken the keys to the vehicle without permission and was attempting to leave with the car when the girl jumped on the hood.
The suspect proceeded to drive away, causing the girl to roll off the hood and fall onto the pavement.
The girl was taken to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The suspect was located around 11:20 p.m. on Prospect Street and arrested for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, second-degree assault and abuse of a household member.
