A man allegedly seen taking an unattended bag on Waikiki Beach was arrested yesterday afternoon, police said.
A couple in the water saw the man take their bag from the beach and chased after him at about 3:05 p.m., police said. The couple, a 21-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, lost sight of him, but spotted him again later. Police were called and arrested the 38-year-old Maili man near the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort.
