Gunman robs Salt Lake bank

Police are looking for a man who robbed a Salt Lake bank at gunpoint yesterday afternoon.

A man entered the Bank of Hawaii branch at 4404 Malaai St., near Target, at 2:17 p.m.

The man displayed a handgun and demanded money from the teller.

He fled in an older model gray van in the mauka direction on Malaai Street, police said.

The man is described as being between 5-feet 6-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing 140 to 160 pounds, with blond hair, and wearing a gray, long-sleeved shirt, white baseball cap with the letters "NY," sunglasses and long pants.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone.
