Universal Pictures will hold three open casting calls here to find 3,500 extras and 20 actors for "Battleship," the action-adventure film shooting on Oahu later this summer.

The first two will be for military personnel, their families and civilian employees with Department of Defense identification. They will be held at Pearl Harbor’s Bloch Arena basketball court from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Military personnel may wear their uniform.

The third casting call, which is open to everyone, will be from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. July 17 in Davies Hall at St. Andrew’s Cathedral.

The film, which is being directed by Peter Berg (TV’s "Friday Night Lights" and the film "Hancock"), needs men, women and children of all ages and ethnicities. They will be needed for one to three days in September and October.

Based on Hasbro’s popular board game, "Battleship" is described as an epic story "that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. It stars Taylor Kitsch (the film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and TV’s "Friday Night Lights").

The casting process only takes a few minutes to fill out forms and have your photo taken if you do not already have one.
