Police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a suspect in the robbery of an American Savings Bank in Manoa on Friday.

The man, in his 40s, is described as being 6 feet 2 inches and weighing about 180 to 200 pounds.

Police said the bank at 2855 East Manoa Road was robbed about 5:51 p.m. Friday, when a man approached a teller and said he needed money for “his family’s ransom,” police said.

The man was wearing a blue aloha shirt, gray pants and a black baseball cap. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
